Medical Emergency Bands for Holocaust Survivors

Israeli ministry, Helping Hand Coalition, has been distributing medical emergency bands to Holocaust Survivors across Israel.

The project was a joint partnership between Helping Hand Coalition and MyMDband together with Crowdmii (a crowdfunding platform) and Israeli volunteer emergency services.

Many Holocaust Survivors suffer from multiple medical conditions as a result of appalling living conditions during the Holocaust. The MyMDband medical emergency bracelet holds vital medical information about the patient that can be accessed immediately by an emergency responder using a mobile phone.
"MyMDband is a medical bracelet that provides emergency medical personnel with instant access to the medical information they need, when it is needed most. When every second counts, knowing the patients existing medical conditions, medications, medical devices and allergies can be the difference between life and death. This technology is particularly valuable for the elderly and people with existing medical conditions, such as Holocaust survivors. Using the built in GPS of the smartphone that is accessing the bracelet, emergency contacts are automatically notified that their loved one is in need of assistance and provides them with their location. In addition, the MyMDband bracelets being provided to Holocaust survivors have been integrated with the United Hatzalah emergency first responder dispatch centre to provide immediate response." MyMDband
Helping Hand Coalition have been inviting Holocaust Survivors to come to various community centres around Israel to receive a free medical band. Information about their personal medical conditions are collected during their visit and then medical volunteers will visit them at home at regular intervals to keep the information up to date. So far, enough funds have been raised to provide MyMDbands to 1,500 Holocaust Survivors.

The first distribution took place in the northern city of Tiberius with subsequent deliveries to Or Akiva and Binyamina in central Israel and Beer Sheva, Ofakim, Sderot and Rehovot in the south. The Survivors were absolutely thrilled to receive their bands and sent many blessings and loving regards to all the sponsors and donors.

We bless Helping Hand Coalition in this amazing project that not only provides practical help and assistance to Holocaust Survivors but also speaks volumes emotionally - showing they have not been forgotten and that people care about what happens to them.

White Shirts, Coffee and a Big Smile!

Here at Your People My People, we love good news stories and nothing excites us more than when we hear how the love of Yeshua breaks down walls and bursts out of the box!  The world says Jewish and Arab people are like oil and water, but there are hundreds of Jewish and Arab people in Israel, proving the world wrong once again!
Arab Pastor Edward Tannous & Jewish Pastor Avi Mizrachi with 'There is Hope!' shirts.

In October last year, Israeli Arab Pastor Edward Tannous  from Haifa and Israeli Jewish Pastor Avi Mizrachi travelled together to USA to raise awareness and support for their annual December outreach in the city of Haifa.  Every year during the festive month, tens of thousands of Israelis from all over the country arrive to celebrate the “Holiday of Holidays Festival”.  In the midst of a sea of merchants selling both hanukkah and Christmas goods, the staff of Dugit Messianic Outreach Centre partner with Pastor Tannous and his Congregation, to share the Gospel during this strategic time.  “Together, we welcome the multitudes with a free cup of coffee and a big smile,” said Avi.  “Everyone of us is dressed in a white shirt inscribed with the words, ‘There is Hope’ in both Hebrew and Arabic.  Our message is that there is hope in the Messiah Yeshua!”

In addition to the coffee and conversations, thousands of Bibles and testimony books are given away in Hebrew, Arabic and Russian, while other members of the team worship with guitars, singing songs about God in each language.  Behind the scenes there is another team close by, this time one of intercessors, people praying and asking God to shine His light, love, and hope into each heart that passes by their stand.  What a dynamic combination!  And what a great joy to see many Israeli Arabs and Jews touched by the power and love of God!  “We were able to talk with many people about Yeshua each weekend,” shared Avi.  “We also prayed with different ones and some have asked if they can meet to talk more.  Each year we experience an increase in resistance from the enemy, and we believe we will see a great response from God in the midst of the multitudes of people that we are able to share the Gospel with!”

Please would you remember to pray for those sharing the Gospel in Israel?  Today, they are fulfilling the words of Isaiah, the voices of ‘ones calling in the wilderness, “Prepare the way of the Lord and make straight in the desert a highway for our God!”’  Ask the Holy Spirit to anoint those who are serving, with boldness and courage and pray that the thousands of Israelis who hear the Gospel, would experience an encounter with God and put their faith in Yeshua!

“Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His word by the signs that accompanied it.”  Mark 16:20
